CMRT / EMRT Validator

Drop a Conflict Minerals (CMRT) or Extended Minerals (EMRT) template and get real validation: every smelter CID checked, plus the contradictions RMI's Checker misses. Nothing is uploaded.

Validate Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) and Extended Minerals Reporting Template (EMRT) files in your browser. Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between CMRT and EMRT?

CMRT (Conflict Minerals Reporting Template) covers tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold (3TG). EMRT (Extended Minerals Reporting Template) extends reporting to cobalt and mica. Both are RMI templates and both are validated here.

Is the CMRT / EMRT validator free?

Yes, free, no account, and fully in-browser. Your template never leaves your device.

How is this different from the RMI CMRT Checker?

It checks every smelter CID against the reference list and also catches internal contradictions and declaration inconsistencies that the official RMI Checker does not flag.

How do I validate smelter IDs in a CMRT?

Drop the file in. The tool reads every declared CID from the Smelter List tab and checks it against the reference list embedded in that same file, which is current as of the template version you received. For a check against the current RMI list rather than a version-locked one, add the RMI smelter export as a second file.

What does smelter list validation actually check?

Membership (does the CID exist on the reference list), a metal match (is the smelter listed for the metal it was declared under), and completeness for any row marked "Smelter Not Listed". With a current RMI export supplied, it also checks conformant and active status.

How to validate a CMRT or EMRT

How to use this tool

  1. Drop your CMRT or EMRT file (.xlsx or .xlsm) into the drop zone.
  2. Optionally drop a current RMI smelter export (.csv or .xlsx) alongside it, for an authoritative check of every CID's membership and conformant status.
  3. Read the verdict: passes, or a count of blocking and advisory findings.
  4. Click any finding to jump straight to the offending sheet and cell.
  5. Fix the file in Excel, then drop the corrected version back in to recheck it.
